The Stanford University-affiliated startup accelerator, StartX, has put together a Covid-19 task force made up of scientists and physicians from 45 companies. These forward thinking companies are coming together in this time of crisis in order to target prevention, diagnostics, and treatment of the novel coronavirus. According to Dr. Michael Niaki, a leading member of the task force, one of the group’s primary goals is for their genetics companies to accelerate their “current solutions for molecular testing of Covid-19 diagnostics, and work with local and state government officials on deployment.” Other objectives of the task force include solutions for automated quarantine management, next generation of infectious disease testing, and rapid solutions to fight developing sepsis, among others. As a community of industry leaders, StartX and its members are strongest together, and are working as such to mobilize solutions for this pandemic.
