CVS, Walgreens have wasted more Covid vaccine doses than most states combined

Two of the largest pharmacy chains in the nation take account for most wasted COVID vaccines across the U.S. In late March, the CDC recorded over 180,000 doses gone to waste. CVS has been responsible for almost half, while Walgreens was at about 21%. 60% of the wasted doses have been Pfizer vaccines which require handling at specific temperatures. Poor planning in the early stages of the vaccine rollout may be the reason why so many had been wasted but the CDC is ensuring this won't continue. Basically, if you are lucky enough to receive a vaccine, do not waste the opportunity.
