Not reaching herd immunity by the fall could have dire consequences, medical expert says
Experts say that herd immunity may not be reached this year. This is due to the lack of people wanting to get vaccinated. Another surge may be headed our way in the colder months come the Fall and Winter due to variants coming in from other countries. To control the spread and reach herd immunity, experts like Dr. Fauci have estimated that between 70% to 85% of the U.S. population needs to be vaccinated. Reaching normalcy again may take longer than we anticipated.
