According to a National Football League Players Association database, 72 NFL players have tested positive for coronavirus as of July 10th. As the start of training camps approaches, the league and the players association continue to negotiate the terms under which these camps will operate. Based on 14-day averages of new positive tests in cities where camps are scheduled to open later this month, Miami currently ranks as the “hottest” virus spot among NFL training camp locations, with 4,164 average daily cases over the past two weeks. Miami is closely followed by Los Angeles, Arizona and Dallas. The league will continue to navigate health and safety protocols ahead of the July 28th opening of most training camps.
